Massive apologies to everyone for the embarrassing delays in updates, things will pick up from here on in. The reason for such delays was the blocked access to this blogging host from the Chinese government.
I just wanted to throw something up to kill the awkward silence here, something small which will be followed by more content, so please stay tuned.

An Update
I hope everyone's training and life in general is good, and remember don't join any big 'globo' gyms, wait for us to open and train in your garage or something in the meantime!
Joking aside (do wait for us though...), we just wanted to keep everyone informed of current developments. So far, things are going without any hitches. We have formalised a few things such as website domain names, opening a business account, having already formed a limited company, and other bits and pieces that are needed to be done have been done already or are in the process of. As far as the gym itself goes, solicitors are battling it out (fortunately not physically) to get the contracts drawn up so we can all sign for it. Since the last update there were a couple of other things that we wanted to clarify and change, and they have been agreed upon, so we are still looking at getting access around February time. Up until then it is a matter of getting the suppliers lined up for optimal equipment delivery time, and when we do get the keys, it will be sleeping bags on the gym floor and decorating and fitting all day, providing some good midnight painting delirium videos to post here I suspect. Leaflets will be printed and disseminated this month to spread the good word, and the official website is in the works and should be primed ready for going live sometime shortly. I do plan to make more clear what form the gym will take, but it will be focused on group-based circuit style sessions. That is all for now.
In the meantime I am going to China for a month and will be looking to post some things that may be of interest to everyone while over there.
Below is a video I filmed in 2007 while over there showcasing what can be considered a standard scene across many parks in China between 5:00am - 8:00am. Certainly a different scene to the UK. Exercise has a massive social function in China, and you can clearly see the vibrancy and diversity of the activities performed by everyday people, not just athletes. This is how exercise should be, natural, enjoyable, and an enhancement to one's life.
Remember, no 'globo' gym memberships!

Update and Box
So a quick update with the gym first!
Things are going well with the Head of Terms. Just in the past few days we have had both sides agree on all raised points, so now it is a matter of clarifying a couple of things, getting it legally set in a contract, and signing for it. With the run-up to and aftermath of Christmas however, it is likely to be February time when we actually get the keys to the place and can begin work on it. I have a feeling there will be a lot of "in-the-pipe-line" talk on this blog, but rest assured that things are actually happening and these processes just take time, definitely longer than we originally had envisaged. Nonetheless, no obstacles in the road thus far and both parties are working together to get the job done.
Now, here is the next installment of the "BEGINNINGS" series, covering everything that we are up to in the run up to opening the facility. In this video, we went down to London to pick up the top two tiers of a vintage and timeless gymnastic vaulting horse. We picked up the equipment with it looking in a bit of a sorry state, with paint on the fabric and stencils on the side. However, the original craftsmanship is second-to-none, and with a bit of TLC, entailing new tatami mat covering upholstering and a slick new paint job, this beast is ready for action. Included is a compilation of just some of the movements that can be trained on it, including beginner to a little more advanced. Our new member to the Push Training equipment family, the Black Box will see some heavy usage.
Have a fantastic Christmas everyone and get ready for the new year!

Tyres and Horses
A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, and today we had a few to make up to a school in Birmingham. We rented a van to pick up two gymnastic vaulting horses that were bought from the school on ebay, vaulting horses being a very versatile bit of classic equipment whose uses are only limited by the imagination. After the pick-up and realizing we still had a little time spare with the rented van, we thought it best to try and get hold of a tyre for the gym, an excellent and highly enjoyable tool that can be used for sledgehammer hits, flipping, dragging, and other great exercises.
So, with precious sand slipping through the hour glass, we made a concerted effort to keep eyes open for suspect farms as well as phoning around the local area. All in all, a very successful day, with two of the most awkward pieces of equipment for the gym already in the bag. A big thank you to Abbey Tyre Co. for not hesitating to give one of their own to a loving new owner.
Stay with us for more updates on the equipment and their uses.
